Description

Chemical_milky_way

Since the seminal paper of Eggen et al. 1962, who showed that it is possible to study galactic archaeology by means of stellar abundances and kinematics, a great deal of observational and theoretical works on the chemical evolution of the Milky Way has appeared.

In particular, the understanding of the formation and structure of the Milky Way is gaining unprecedented soundness due to the  improvement in number and quality of observational data, which allow us to derive the individual chemical composition and kinematic information for large samples of stars belonging to different Galactic components.

This workshop will focus on the comparison between the predictions of theoretical models and the constraints provided by the continuously increasing amount of observational data. Furthermore, a section of the workshop will be dedicated at the potentialities of the huge forthcoming surveys, like GAIA and LAMOST, which are around the corner.

We have a very limited amount of funds and some cheaper rooms in the hotel reserved for students and post-docs.
The registration fee is 200 euros for senior scientists and 100 euros for students.

The Conference will be held at the Sport & Kurhotel in Bad Moos (1 km from Sesto) and we have reserved already a certain number of rooms with different typologies. Please choose the room type you would like and let us know. We will provide the reservation for you.
The Hotel is very good, it has a spa offering indoor and outdoor pools, saunas and a variety of beauty and medical treatments. It is localed  just under the cable to reach beautiful sky slopes.

You can find more information about the Hotel and the Reservation procedure here.

Registration fees (200 Euro for Seniors, 100 Euro for PhD students and Post Doc) must be paid cash at the registration desk.
Each contribution consists of a 30 min talk plus 15 min for discussion.
