Black Holes are unique cosmic objects, which allow us to unveil the effects of Strong Gravity. Impressive progresses have been made in the last years, both theoretically and observationally. It is important to take stock of the current knowledge in this field, and be prepared for future observational prospects, including brand-new observing windows, like X-ray polarimetry.
The workshop aims to bring together a group of astrophysicists working - both theoretically and observationally - in the field of Strong Gravity around Black Holes with the goals to:
- set the state of the art by means of reviews given by the leading experts in the field;
- inform one another on the progresses made by participants/groups on specific subtopics by means of short presentations;
- have extensive and profitable discussions;- work together to make further progresses on ongoing projects and/or establish new collaborations.
In order to fully exploit the advantages of this kind of workshop, ample time for discussion is foreseen.
