Chemical evolution of GRB Host Galaxies

The main aim of SCfA is organising and hosting small and medium-size workshops on specific research subjects, during the Summer season. The idea is to offer to scientists, working in the fields of Astrophysics, Cosmology and related branches of Physics, the opportunity to meet in an informal environment and to carry out collaborative work, surrounded by the spectacular view of the Dolomites. For each workshop, we foresee the participation of a limited number of researchers.

The third week of July 2011, a workshop on the chemical evolution of galaxies hosting Gamma-Ray Burst (GRB), supernovae as GRB progenitors and cosmic GRB rate will be organised by the Department of Physics of the University of Trieste.

The workshop will contain a wide range of topics related to GRBs.

Topics of the workshop will include:

* GRB host galaxies, observations, classification, spectroscopy

* GRB host galaxy models

* GRB and SN connection

* GRB and SN progenitors: theory, modeling, observations

* GRB and SN local and cosmic rates

* GRB and cosmology

The workshop will be a very pleasant occasion to discuss such topics from different points of view.
